Hello Everyone!

Hope you and your family are all doing well, including your furry, feathered or scaled family members.

We have been doing well here at the Sanctuary, working hard to improve things during the cooler mornings before it gets too hot. It was raining all the week before last, so we weren't able to get very much done until this week where we were very busy.

We have a lovely garden to feed the birds from, which they quite enjoy, it has herbs and veggies they love (plus some treats like millet!). When the pasture grows long, we cut it and use the pesticide free clippings as hay to bed down the bird and goose barns and nesting houses. Everything here has a purpose, we strive to never let anything go to waste. If there are ever bird leftovers or when the barns get cleaned out, we scoop everything up and it goes into the compost for next years garden.

It has been nearly two years since Hurricane Michael, and we are finally rebuilding from all of the damage we received (which we estimated was about $35,000 worth). The birds have safe barns to be in, we rehabbed our old horse trailer into a barn for the larger animals (which they love), we have a place to store all the donated food, and this week we finally were able to repair the damage to the roof which happened when a huge pecan tree was blown directly onto our volunteer housing. We are so incredibly blessed, to have supporters who give so much of themselves so the animals can have what they need. We are so grateful for your generosity and kindness. Jaime, Maria, Gwen, Amanda, Suzanne, Angie, Lisa, Andrea, Alyssa, Pamela, Dana, Robert, Janice, Larame. Joe, Jerry, Jeff, Johnny, Victor, Chris and Melissa -- and anyone we may have missed! We couldn't keep doing the vital work we do without you. Thank you.

Our needs this week: 3 bags of parakeet food and one Vetericyn from Amazon and 2 bags of all-stock feed (thank you Alyssa for sending one!) from Tractor Supply, please have the All Stock held at the Tallahassee location where we can pick it up. If you support the work we do please consider becoming a monthly donor via PayPal. Even $5 per month, means SO much toward the goal. All donations go directly toward caring for the animals.

We've been posting about the animals on our Facebook, so if you haven't already, please make sure that you follow us on Facebook for up to the minute updates!
