Billy

Billy was brought to us by a young couple who didn't know how to give him the care he needed... he had multiple health issues that stemmed from inbreeding (a common problem on small southern farms).  The main issue he had was that he couldn't walk properly because of hoof overgrowth/deformation, instead of walking on his feet he crawled around on his knees which made his legs even weaker when he did try to stand.

We accepted Billy into our Sanctuary family in Summer of 2016, since his arrival he has recieved special care and has been able to rehabilitate far past our expectations.  Although he still walks with a limp, he is now able to walk on all four hooves just like any normal goat would do.

He has made friends with one of our other resident goats, Benjamin, and they spend hours walking around the pasture together, playing and butting heads.

Without Lemondrop, Billy would more than likely not have lived, a farmer would have slaughtered him because of his handicap.  But now he has a chance to live out a happy life with us here on the farm.

Sadly, Billy passed in late 2018 in his sleep. He will always be missed.
