Ginger & Lucy

Ginger and Lucy were found wandering a neighborhood, and were taken in by a wonderful lady who cared for them. When they became bored and started wandering into the neighbors yards, she realized they needed more space to roam. She contacted us to see if we had room to take them in. We happily accepted them into our Lemondrop Family, where they have been a happy part of the farm since 2016.

Ginger happily lived with the chickens in their pasture for over two years, until a horrible wild animal attack that took the lives of all but four of the chicken flock. You can read more about the attack here and here. Fortunately Lucy was one of the four who survived, and is still with us, in a heavily protected pen that we keep for our elderly or at risk outdoor birds.
