Winds-a-blowing

A huge shout out and thank you to our two volunteers, Toree and Jailene, who were such an immense help to us at our fundraiser this Saturday. We had so much fun spending time with them, and watching them feed and love on Luke. Thank you so much for your dedication to the animals and Lemondrop.

Another special thank you to Kay who bought Luke a beautiful baby blanket on Saturday when the wind began to blow!

Luke is doing amazingly well. He has grown so much! On Monday he reached four weeks old, a huge milestone and so far he is thriving. He truly believes he is a dog, in the evenings he cuddles up with our resident dogs in their "dog pile" and falls asleep. They clean his face after he eats and there is milk dribbling from his chin, its an amazing sight. Last night, he jumped up on the doggie-dedicated couch and slept beside Hannah. We're slightly concerned about what this will be like when he is 200lbs... but we will cross that bridge when we come to it!

On Monday we had extreme winds and rain at the Sanctuary, which completely took us by surprise. They had forecast rain, but not extreme wind. The temporary horse shelters we put up were not meant for high wind and did sustain some damage. We are hopeful that they will remain intact until we can get enough funding to build them an actual barn or purchase the weather proof shipping containers.

In a strange occurrence of events, Wilbur has returned to us from the family who adopted him. He is up for adoption again, and will be at our adoption event this weekend. Follow us on Facebook to keep current on all our events! @LemondropFarmSanctuary

We are hoping to get new signage soon for our weekend events, if anyone would like to help out with that or has a suggestion of someone to talk to - please let us know!

We are always in need of: old blankets towels or sheets, baby bottles, hydrogen peroxide, paper towels, hay and gas cards.

Thank you all for your dedication and support of Lemondrop. Without you, we couldn't continue this vital work to care for these precious lives.
