What a wild month it's been.
Greetings everyone!

Hope you are all well, happy and ready for the holidays.
Going to put out our needs first, before discussing our recent goings on at Lemondrop.
I think everyone knows how hard our financial situation is. This year our donations have dropped significantly. Several of our monthly Supporters have had to drop giving due to life circumstances, and we have received ZERO grants this year. We depend on both our Sponsors and the small grants from local businesses to survive. The grants usually cover our higher costs (vehicle maintenance, repairs and unexpected things that come up), and our monthly Supporters usually cover our monthly mandatory expenses. Without the grants, we've really not been able to do any repairs at all this year. Our Volunteers have been patching, repairing mending things to make them last a little longer.
Between today, and the end of 2022, we have to raise $3000. This is to cover both our monthly expenses and for repairs that we cannot wait on any longer. One of the repairs is our fencing, it's been needing repair since Hurricane Michael, and we've been coaxing time out of it. But it is now in such disrepair, that there are places that absolutely must be replaced. There's also small vehicle repairs that are beyond our Volunteer capability that must be done. And then our (average) $500 of monthly mandatory expenses (feed and things for the animals, gas to pick up donations and distribute, electricity, internet/phone.)
We usually don't participate in Giving Tuesday, because we usually are not anyone's first consideration. Most people donate to the larger known NonProfit Charities. But this year we really need a little help to get through the end of the year. If you can help us reach the $3000 we need, please consider donation. Or if you know someone that is looking to donate. We really need support this year, as it's been our lowest point in donations since our inception in 2011. Thank you to all of you who ALWAYS donate from your heart. ❤️

So enough with the heavy!
Anyone who has been following our Facebook page probably knows that a couple of our full time onsite Volunteers, were sick for a couple weeks. Our activities we're limited to getting the animals cared for. Our other Volunteers keep the food distribution going while we were down.
These are photos from all our giveaways and wishlist items, distributed to local communities and people in need from the last few weeks.
But now we are all better and getting back into the swing of things. We have been super busy this last week, doing massive giveaways, and picking up extra donations that we had to postpone.
This was our first major giveaway collaborating with Bostick Temple Community Outreach in Quincy Florida. Some of you know that we provide Bostick with quite a bit of food and resources each week. But this was an all new facet of our giving. Thursday we set up tables and allowed people to take 10 items for FREE. The people were thrilled and we gave away nearly all the items we brought.
The animals are all well. And happily bopping around their pastures and pens. Hammy broke out recently (another reason we need fence repairs), but has since been corralled back into his pen, and is happily back with his bff Hansel. Harley (our mini potbelly pig) is celebrating his 12th year with us! We took him in during our time in California immediately prior to establishing the Nonprofit. He is a wonderful boy, and LOVES tummy rubs and sweet treats. We try not to give him too many treats though! Munchie and Happy are celebrating their 10th year with us, and were the first exotic birds that we accepted. Bruiser has also been with us for 12 years, he is an elderly Great Dane mix, and has lived far past what anyone expected! And still going strong.
