Thank you! Lemondrop is a Top Rated NonProfit for 2020!

Hello everyone!

Hope you are all safe and having a lovely summer, despite the crazy world events.

We are so pleased and honored to announce that, thanks to you all, we are a Top Rated Nonprofit for 2020! The email said that we were one of the first to earn the badge. It's because of all of you who support us, and wrote such amazing touching reviews. Thank you so much.

There are near daily updates and pictures of the animals on our Facebook page, so be sure to follow and like us there. Here are just a few of the pictures from this last few weeks.

While we are all doing well, and just keeping-on doing things around the farm and with the animals... we are struggling financially.

I mentioned in our last blog how tight things were financially. We had been hoping and praying that some small local grants would come in and fill the major gap in funding. Many grants never came, the one that did (we are EXCEPTIONALLY grateful for), was far less than we had expected.

We now stand at having raised $8,000 for the year, where we usually raised a minimum of $20,000 per year (which barely covers our base expenses).

We are in desperate need of donations, both animal food and PayPal donations. Our animal food donations from local stores continues to decline for unknown reasons, which puts an even greater strain on our already meager operational expenses.

Food we need now:

We need bags of ANY brand of inexpensive dog food from Tractor Supply Company (10-15 large bags would be amazing).

Food we will need at the end of August:

We will need more (10ish) bags of All Stock Sweet Feed from Tractor Supply Company at the end of this month (August). We are okay on this food for now. (Tractor Supply donations can be ordered for the local Tallahassee store and held for pickup by Lemondrop, just be sure to let us know if you did order something we need to go get!)

Two small bags of Parakeet pellets from Amazon (This is the food for the parakeets, the small green cheek conure, cockatiel, etc). Again this is for the end of the month, we have one bag that we are about to open, which should last us 2-3 weeks.

---

The work we do is vital. Our Community Food Outreach extends food and household items to more than 600 families each week, something that is critical during this time. At the Farm Sanctuary our 80+ rescued resident animals rely on our food donations and our volunteers love and care.

Please consider helping and share with anyone that you believe may be able to help us get through this difficult time.

Thank you. And a special thank you to everyone who has given so much of themselves, their time and their resources to help us. Both now and in the past. At Lemondrop we are so incredibly blessed, to have supporters who give so much of themselves so the animals can have what they need. We are so grateful for your generosity and kindness. Jaime, Maria, Gwen, Amanda, Suzanne, Angie, Dana, Lisa, Andrea, Alyssa, Pamela, Dana, Robert, Janice, Larame. Joe, Jerry, Jeff, Johnny, Victor, Chris and Melissa -- and anyone we may have missed! We couldn't keep doing the vital work we do without you. Thank you. ❤️
