Christmas Miracle!
Greetings everyone!
We hope this holiday season finds you happy, healthy and safe despite the craziness of society.
All of our Volunteers at Lemondrop have been very busy this month of December, picking up, delivering and distributing hundreds of pounds of food, household items and children's items to our Community Outreach points and people in need. December seems to be one of our busiest months with actual tangible donations, both from individuals and local businesses who seem to get into the giving spirit.
Historically December and January have been our lowest months of monetary donations. To our shock and joy, a Christmas Miracle occurred this year! For the second time this year, and the first time ever in Lemondrop history, we made our monthly expenses goal for December! This is monumental!
We can go no farther without thanking those who are responsible for this. Our regular Donors, Supporters and Volunteers: Jaime & Family, Phyllis & Ray, Jeff, Maria, Robert, Dana, Nadia, Gavin, Angela, Alyssa, Lisa, Joni, Harlan, Mark and Kate. An additional huge thank you to the Panhandle Ponies, Heather & Shirley Shields, Nicholas Brown and all the Panhandle Ponies members for their additional donation from the 2021 All Car Club Show & Shine event which helped us reach our mandatory expenses goal. You have loved and supported us for many years, and we are SO grateful for you all!
All further donations received in December will go toward our January 2022 expenses.
We will be picking up several hundred pounds of food tonight (Christmas Eve), which will be directly distributed to local impoverished communities and people in need for the holiday. Please wish us the best, and send us good thoughts and prayers for all those we are reaching out to.
The resident animals are healthy and safe. Our Volunteers have been busy with other responsibilities, sorting Donations and such, and haven't had much time to post pictures and updates. Hopefully we will have more Volunteers in 2022, which will give us more time to spend updating social media.
If you would like to commit to Volunteering one day a week (or multiple times), please contact us by email lemondrop@startmail.com for an application. We need the most help with food pick up and distribution for our Community Outreach. It doesn't require much, other than a vehicle and a scheduled time for pick up/drop off.
If you would like to become a monthly Sponsor and support the vital work that we do at Lemondrop, please sign up via PayPal.me/LemondropNonprofit -- even a simple $5 per month is a HUGE help for us!
We love you all! Merry Christmas, from our family to yours!
