Memorial to Gloria and Lemondrop's Needs

We are reaching out to our Lemondrop family with an urgent need. We recently had just enough to finally get our very old van fixed (yay!), we had the brakes that were in desperate need of changing repaired along with a few other necessary things. The next day that we drove the van, the brakes went to the floor. Unfortunately it now needs to go back to the shop to find out what went wrong or wasn't fixed.

This leaves us in a bind, as we have donations to pick up tomorrow and we are without a vehicle. If anyone has a vehicle, truck, van, we can use for tomorrows pickups, we would be so very grateful. We would be using it to drop the van to the shop, and pick up the donations tomorrow. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't need to be pretty, or new, just functional to use.

It is with a very heavy heart that we say that we have lost one of our oldest hens.

Gloria was one of our oldest residents (of the bird family), we have had her for more than six years and estimate that she was at least 7 1/2 years old (possibly older). She had been doing very well right up until her passing. We found her in the early afternoon of the 23rd. Gloria came to us from a woman/farm who was reducing her flock in California. We took in and rescued both Gloria, Gideon and our two oldest geese Gus and Lucy from her. They made the long journey with us from California to Tallahassee. They have been with us ever since. Gloria loved being with the flock, and so we decided not to separate her, even as she advanced in age. We believe she was happy right up to the end. But she will be very much missed by all of us and the flock who loved her.

Thank you for your love and support.

A special thank you to David and Jai who are always so dedicated in volunteering, helping us with the animals and feeding hungry people.

A special thank you to our faithful supporters; Jaime & Family, Darryl & Virgina, Phyllis, Suzanne, Maria, Roy, Robert, Terry, Tasha, Dot, Anne, Billy, Shaunda, Jenny, Kenley, Kevin, Janet, Cindy, Joanna, Shirley & Family, Cynthia, Patricia. And to those who are just now learning about our needs and are just beginning to support us. Thank you. Without your love and giving hearts we couldn’t continue the work we do.

All the love in our hearts to our volunteers, who help in a variety of ways, both small and great at our two locations (both Pomona, CA and Tallahassee, FL). Mark, Tim, Alice, Justin, Jailene, David, Elizabeth. We love you. <3
