Tribute to Diamond and so much more...

It has been a very busy week since we posted last Sunday.

In our last blog we talked about how our oldest resident had not been doing very well. Diamond passed on Monday 3/25.

Diamond was one of our earliest rescues, she was a red-line from the local pound and had only hours to live. She was supposedly around a year old at the time, thin, frightened and had a bad case of kennel cough.

She quickly got better and became one of the best dogs we could ask for. She considered herself our personal guardian. She loved being on the bed, eating chicken (and burgers), and bossing the little dogs around.

We believe she was around 16 when she passed. Our lovely girl fought to stay, even in her final hours, asking for help to get up and go to the bathroom outside even while she was shaky on her feet. She had a meal and a long drink of water, and then passed in her sleep on Monday morning.

She will be greatly missed. Hannah, Bruiser and Emmy have all taken it the hardest. We miss her everyday.

Diamond was our greatest success. She had a long a happy life.

A couple days ago, we found a little baby chick in the back pasture, who had apparently lost its mother.

We couldn’t figure out who the mommy was, so we brought the lucky little lady inside. She was pretty small, so we placed her in the cage with Happy and Munchie, our resident couple, while I looked for a cage. By the time I came back, Happy had already claimed her as her baby, so she has remained with them. For now. Happy now has the baby she always wanted, and the chick has the mommy she needed. Happy endings are amazing.

This lovely little lady deserves a special name. Anyone with suggestions please let us know!

Meet Lance!

He is 3 years old, fixed, has all his shots, dewormed, deflead and ready for a forever home! He is a sweet loving cuddly boy. 100% house and crate trained. He doesn’t chew, has been trained not to jump. He LOVES his humans.

The only thing is that Lance needs to be the only pet in his home. He’s usually okay with other animals, unless they growl (then it’s over), so we feel he would be best as the only pet.

Anyone who is interested in Lance needs to have a fully fenced backyard, time and love to give him. Message, email or text for more information

More pics coming later!

Thank you all for your love and support during this especially hard time for us. Losing a family member is always hard, and we consider these animals to be like members of our family.
