Self Isolation... do-da do-da

We have been doing pretty well, hope you all have been too! It's hard to complain when you're surrounded by nature, the peace of farm life and animals who love you. The struggle of course, is donations, since all of our fundraising events for the year are currently postponed or canceled and they are the main way that we fund the imperative work we do.

This week we need just a few things: 1 bag of rabbit bedding, 1-2 bag of rabbit food and 3 bags of all-stock feed. If you'd like to contribute it's easy via our Amazon Wishlist. This last week Luke found his new forever home at Country Feed Store & Garden Supply with Christy and family. We are so happy, he seems to love his new home and all the beautiful ewes that will be his new family.

These beautiful little Peking ducks were dropped off at Country Feed & Supply, Christy called us to see if they could join our flock family and we were happy to help! They’re super sweet, and very wide eyed and innocent to being outside on a farm. We suspect they were Easter house pets until they got too big to be kept inside. Just another reminder that pets aren’t gifts and shouldn’t be bought just to for “temporary”! Every life is precious and should be treated with respect.

We’ve had people ask how Tico and Stoney are doing — very well. They spend an inordinate amount of time together in their nesting box, cuddling and grooming each other. They come out during the day to eat, drink, have treats (pistachios and bananas), before nosediving back into their box. We’ve been trying to encourage them to take baths and play with their toys, but they seem more content with each other than with us at the moment.
