Christmas Time Is Here
Happy holidays, Merry Christmas and Chag Sameach! This crazy year is almost at an end.
First and foremost, we want to say a most sincere and heartfelt thank you to those who responded to our last email shout out request for end of the year donations. Specifically thank you to: Darline, Larame, Cheryl, Robert, Alyssa, Missy & Michael, Angela, Libby, Jaime & Family, Lisa and Lindsay. (sorry if some of the names are wrong! We go based off of the name listed on PayPal.) Because of you donating, we were able to meet all of our needs for December with $2 to spare. Truly miraculous. We are so grateful.
If you follow us on Facebook, then you likely already know that we lost our dearest and oldest resident Stoney this month. He had just reached 35 years old, which is very old for a Blue Crown Conure. His passing was sad for all of us, especially his favorite volunteer (he passed away in her arms), and his mate Tico (our resident Sun Conure). He was happy with us, and his passing was very peaceful. We will continue to miss him.
Stoney's former family who had cared for him for 30+ years, volunteered to continue to sponsor Tico as his mate and the love of his life. Initially we were very concerned that Tico may stop eating due to extreme depression. We placed her in a new cage with our volunteer's bird, a year old Green Cheek Conure named Zephyr. Where Stoney was peaceful, suave and debonair – Zephyr is energetic, talks ALOT and playful. So far it has been a very positive transition for Tico, and Zephyr seems to have prevented her from becoming listless and depressed. This week we caught them snuggling and cuddling.
Are you or someone you know looking to do charitable giving for the end of the year? (hint hint: Taxes are coming up soon!). If you donate any physical items, vehicles, property or monetarily, Lemondrop will provide you with the same tax donation receipt that you will get at any other nationwide large nonprofit. The only difference is, that we don't farm donations out to a national distribution center where they get lost or possibly thrown away. Every donation we receive goes toward the care of the animals and our base operational expenses. Physical items are either used at the Sanctuary, distributed to people in need via our Community Outreach, or sold and the money put toward these two programs. Nothing goes to waste at Lemondrop.
If you would like to donate a vehicle (any kind with a title), or physical property, please contact us directly by 850-508-6576 or lemondropproductionsinc.nonprofit@riseup.net
As always, if you want to donate directly, simply click HERE or go to the "DONATE" button at the top of our website.
We are so thankful for each and every one of you. All of our volunteers and supporters who have given so much of yourselves for us this year. Without you we would not have been able to keep running. Thank you. We love you! Merry Christmas.
