Happy March! Spring is here!

Greetings everyone! Be sure and click through to the full Blog post so you can see all of the pictures!

Firstly we are so grateful and humbled for such an outpouring of support this month! As of today, March 25th 2021, we are at 99% of our goal for our March Operational Expenses! We are so grateful! A huge heartfelt thank you to all who have donated so far to help us toward our goal! These are mandatory expenses, in order for us to feed the animals and continue our work. This does not cover any emergencies, or repairs needed at the Sanctuary.

Just a reminder that ALL of our "Staff" (including our Board of Directors and full time on-site volunteers) are 100% UNPAID and VOLUNTEER all of their time. No one receives a paycheck on our team. We do not use any money raised for expensive and wasteful marketing. Every single dollar goes directly toward the Operational Expenses that keep our doors open. Unlike other local rescues, who receive HUGE government grants and run TV ads, Lemondrop does not receive ANY government or local funding. If you would like to help us reach our goal please visit PayPal. Thank you's to all who donated are at the bottom of this blog!

Things we are currently in need of

For the Sanctuary:

Vehicle (any as long as it functions and has a clear title)

Dietomaceous Earth for bedding/pest control (10lb bag - can be purchased from Stone's or TSC, contact us if you need help!)

For the Community Outreach:

(note that our pickups for Community Outreach items are being scheduled a couple weeks out because we have limited volunteers to pick up/collect them)

Canned goods, non perishable foods

Clothing (all sizes), shoes (all sizes)

Household items, Personal care items

We send hundreds of pounds of food, clothing and necessities through our Community Outreach, to volunteers who directly help those in need in our local communities each week. The two groups we work with most frequently are Bostick Temple in Quincy, who reach more than 600 families in need each week. We also support Ms Dottie, who goes directly to homeless, shut ins and people in need to give them food and household items. These are just a few pictures of the work done in the past couple weeks, of both Lemondrop Community Outreach, and those we partner with.

Here are a couple of the adorable animal pics from this last few weeks at the Sanctuary (there are more on our Facebook page ;])!

This last week we set up our new GreenStalk Vertical Garden, thanks to help from the amazing folks with GreenStalk. They've helped our full time on site Volunteers to set up an all NEW vertical slow drip watering plant system for our green foods (both for the humans and animals)! If you're considering doing gardening this year, and are looking for the easiest solution, there's no better option than GreenStalk. Ordering is simple, set up is super fast, and the planter waters ALL your plants for you!

Enter your email on our Lemondrop homepage, to subscribe to all of our email shout out's, and follow us on Facebook for daily pictures and updates about our resident animals.

We are so thankful for each and every one of you. All of our volunteers and supporters who have give so much of yourselves always. At Lemondrop we are so incredibly blessed, to have supporters who give so much of themselves so the animals can have what they need. We are so grateful for your generosity and kindness. Jaime & Family, Cindy, Robert, Tracy, Rhonda, Maria, Gwen, Amanda, Suzanne, Angie, Lisa, Andrea, Alyssa, Pamela, Dana, Janice, Larame, Joe, Jerry, Jeff, Melissa, Joni, Chris, Grea, Janice, Nadia, Darline, Cheryl, Libby, Lindsay, Missy, Harlan, Julie and Michael -- and anyone we may have missed!
