Please read.
I am going to be very blunt in today's blog.
We are at 41% of our July Mandatory Operational Expenses. This simply will not enable Lemondrop to survive.
We have an immediate need to pay a $300 utility bill, which has not yet been covered by donations this month.
We have some amazing supporters, who give SO much of themselves -- and even extra when they know we are in need. These supporters make up about 5% of our total base of Followers and Subscribers on both our website and Facebook. We have been talking for months about our $5 per month sponsorship needs.
If everyone who follows us online was to donate $5 per month, we would meet our monthly operational expenses goal. These are MANDATORY expenses, which enable our full time 100% non paid Volunteers to care for the Sanctuary animals and pickup/distribute food and necessities through our Community Outreach.
I don't believe our goals are excessive. 100% of the money is spent on real needs for the nonprofit (such as food for the animals, gas to pick up and deliver donations, basic utility bills etc). What we ask for is the minimum needed for Lemondrop to function. No money goes to salaries (everyone is Volunteer), mass media marketing, no debt.
Prior to Covid, we were bringing in around $25,000 per year with donations, local grass roots fundraising and grants from businesses. During and after covid, grants and local fundraising have essentially evaporated. We are left with donations from our supporters and the occasional grant. Last year we raised less than $11,000. I'm not even sure how we were able to keep our doors open with that amount. This year is adding up to less thus far.
It is disheartening and frustrating for us, to realize that only 5% of our viewers around the web, support the work that we do.
So now, I am asking, point blank. If you watch, like, follow, subscribe or support what we do, please commit to donating $5 per month to Lemondrop @ PayPal.me/LemondropNonprofit - It doesn't sound like much, but it enables us to continue the vital work we do.
Thank you for your continued love and support. Especially for all of our donors, supporters and Volunteers who give SO much of themselves, beyond even monetary donations. Your love and kind works keep us going.
